Ideas should be sold, not archived…but sometimes you have to.

Hollywood I am amazed at how hard it has become to sell an idea. Sitting, stewing over and idea and then trying to find the right person to make that idea a reality, is hard but not impossible. But it takes more time these days.

With the recent recession and backlash of its effects, we are pushed even harder to become even better salesmen. The ideas are still flowing but are now being tainted by budgetary constraints, which in itself is a bit of a slap in the face. How can you make an epic film like that?

So the idea library is growing fuller and fuller. Ideas are kept locked up until there is more budget. Until you can find that right person, who can take that idea and make it more than you could have imagined. Hopefully with more budget.

What are we selling these days? Not much. We prefer to keep archiving. These ideas are too good to be given away for nothing.

I don’t mind waiting and archiving. With people getting frustrated and irritated with social media and reality television, film is making a comeback in any case.
